The Minneapolis police have reopened the 1996 homicide case of a 31-year-old woman found stabbed to death in the trunk of her car.
Police say a tip call in March prompted investigators to reopen the 17-year-old investigation into the death of Anne Dunlap.
Dunlap was found stabbed to death Jan. 1, 1996, in the trunk of her car left in a Kmart parking lot in south Minneapolis.
Minneapolis police spokeswoman Cindy Barrington tells KARE-TV the tip related to a conversation from years before her murder.
She says investigators looking into the case now were not in the unit in 1996, so they are providing a fresh set of eyes. She says there's also a new DNA test that can be done.
