Minnesota State University - Mankato student and U.S. Army vet Michael Hanson tells The Free Press the most important thing he and two classmates have to remember during their three-day, 97-mile walk from Mankato to St. Paul in support of $97 million in additional funding for MnSCU:
"You have to change socks a lot when they get wet and prevent the blisters."
The trio was to arrive at the Capitol this morning and join other students in pushing legislators to approve MnSCU's budget request.

He told the newspaper reporter the march -- the third such walk in three years -- is a "tangible, visible event that will show support for education."
He added:
"It's scary the amount of student loans I'll have to pay back. Almost overwhelming."
