Gun legislation in Minnesota appears dead for this session after DFL House Speaker Paul Thissen said Democrats could not reach agreement.
In an MPR report, he said he decided to shelve the bill because neither side was willing to budge.
Despite public support for expanded background checks, according to a Star Tribune poll, Thissen could not get the votes he needed.
A main sponsor of the gun bill, Sen. Ron Latz, DFL-St. Louis Park, will join The Daily Circuit to discuss gun issues.
