Deanna Foster, executive director of the Dayton's Bluff Community Council, tells the Pioneer Press why some residents are upset over a skyway that's part of Metropolitan State University's expansion plan, which is expected to cost tens of millions of dollars:

"One of the things about Dayton's Bluff is that it has wonderful views of the downtown skyline, because we're up on the bluff. So the people who live there feel possessive about that view. Every time (Metro State) builds a skyway, it blocks that view."

Foster also said the university's layout limits the contact that students have with residents and small businesses.
