Hennepin County authorities have charged a 34-year-old man for a fatal stabbing in south Minneapolis over the weekend.
Rick Martinez, also known as Andrew Riyadh Terrell, faces one count of second-degree murder.
The stabbing occurred on Saturday evening on the 5700 block of 33rd Avenue South in Minneapolis. The victim, an adult man who has not been identified, died after being brought to Hennepin County Medical Center.
Police say they identified Martinez as a suspect based on evidence that was found at the scene of the crime. Martinez was arrested on Sunday after neighbors detained him when he allegedly returned to the apartment building where the stabbing occurred.
Martinez is currently being held at Hennepin County Jail. His first court appearance is scheduled for Wednesday.
