NHL lockout: Will new talks today help?

National Hockey League players and owners try something new today in an effort to end the NHL lockout: The two sides are meeting face-to-face, without mediators and without the usual group of union leaders and owner representatives who've so far failed to reach an agreement.

The lockout is about 2-and-a-half months old and the league has canceled games through Dec. 14.

Joining MPR's Cathy Wurzer to talk about this new attempt to get players back on the ice is Mike Russo. He covers hockey for the Star Tribune.
