Dakota county authorities are investigating a dispute between two groups of duck hunters that ended in shots being fired.
Dakota County Chief Sheriff's Deputy Tim Leslie said the two groups of hunters were arguing over the placement of duck decoys in Spring Lake... He said one group apparently put their decoys too close to the other group's decoys.
Leslie says the argument escalated and one of the duck hunters fired shots. He says the pellets hit a boat carrying two people.
No one was hurt, Leslie said, but one man called 911. Deputies arrested a suspect and questioned him. Leslie said the suspect claims the shooting was an accident. He said the Dakota County Attorney's Office will likely bring charges.
