Thursday is Give to the Max Day, a unique and organized effort to spur people to donate to nonprofits in Minnesota during one 24-hour period. It's the fourth year for the effort and this time more than 200 schools are part of the mix too.
The day of giving is organized through the online fundraising website GiveMN, which loads pages for each registered nonprofit in Minnesota onto its website. It's up to the organizations to then drive donors to their individual page for a donation. Last year, donors gave $13.4 million to nearly 4,000 nonprofits, including Minnesota Public Radio.
Dana Nelson, executive director of GiveMN, joined The Daily Circuit to talk about how her organization - which facilitates the online giving - has changed how we give to nonprofits in Minnesota.
