Minnesota is now the only state to vote down a constitutional amendment banning same sex marriage. But Minnesota wasn't the only state to vote on the issue yesterday. Three other states -- Maine, Maryland, and Washington -- voted in favor of legalizing same sex marriage.
This has some wondering if the election highlights a cultural shift when it comes to gay marriage. One of the vocal opponents of the gay marriage amendment was DFL State Sen. Scott Dibble who represents Minneapolis. He joins MPR's Cathy Wurzer on Morning Edition.
