Operators are ramping up power at the Monticello nuclear plant following an automatic shutdown earlier this week.
Xcel Energy Inc. says the plant was restarted Friday.
The plant shut down safely on Tuesday morning as workers were performing maintenance on electric equipment. Xcel says that momentarily interrupted power supplies to certain plant systems. The plant's safety systems detected the condition and shut down the plant, as designed.
Xcel says there was no safety risk.
The plant is about 40 miles northwest of Minneapolis.
