A Hennepin County judge has denied Amy Senser's request to be freed pending appeal of her conviction in a fatal hit-and-run accident.
Judge Daniel H. Mabley ruled Wednesday that Senser's attorneys hadn't presented enough evidence that her appeal was likely to succeed. Mabley also took issue with Senser's defense, writing that she and her attorneys had sought to influence the case through the media since it began.
Senser, the wife of former Minnesota Viking Joe Senser, has been in custody since July when she was sentenced to 3 years and 5 months in prison for the hit-and-run death of Anousone Phanthavong in Minneapolis.
