In an effort to get Minneapolis art lovers out of their cars and onto transit this weekend, Metro Transit is offering free rides.
Fairgoers with a Metro Transit ArtPass can ride free on buses and light rail between the Uptown Art Fair, the Loring Park Art Festival and the Powderhorn Art Fair .
The free-ride pass is available at metrotransit.org/ArtPass and at each festival's website. To get a free ride, customers must show their downloadable pass to a bus driver or Transit Police officer. The free-ride offer is not available on Northstar.
Free rides on regular route buses that serve the neighborhoods will be available from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 4, and from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 5. ArtPass ambassadors will also be stationed at stops at each art fair to assist customers. Or, call a transit expert at 612-373-3333 or use the Trip Planner at metrotransit.org.
