Rebuilding Cedar Street in downtown St. Paul

There was a ripple of newsroom chatter the other day which led to my snapping this photo on Tuesday, June 26th, 2012.

It's the reconstruction of Cedar street as part of the Central Corridor light rail line.

The chatter raised the question of how much visual documentation is happening for the state's largest public works project ever.

The Central Corridor project folks are taking lots of pictures and they publish some in their regular electronic newsletter updating construction.

We'll try bring you a more regular update of the Cedar street progress since the excavation phase for district heating, sewer and other utilities is now evolving into preparation to start building the station platform just up the street from Minnesota Public Radio.
