Four Twin Cities community organizations will get a major financial boost, thanks to some new grants announced Tuesday.
The grants, totalling more than $1.3 million, come from ArtPlace, a coalition of funders and federal agencies led by the National Endowment for the Arts. The money is part of more than $15 million given nationally to encourage what's called "creative placemaking."
The four groups receiving money are the Native American Community Development Institute, Intermedia Arts, Pillsbury House + Theatre, and Public Art Saint Paul.
Morning Edition host Cathy Wurzer talked with Carol Coletta, the director of ArtPlace, about what she hopes will come from the grants.
