The American Academy of Neurology is giving away 1,000 free bike helmets for adults and children at the Mill City Farmers Market this Saturday, June 9.
The giveaway is meant to promote brain health and celebrate the grand opening of the American Academy of Neurology's new headquarters building in Minneapolis at Chicago Avenue and 2nd Street, across from the Mill City Farmers Market.
The Academy has also donated 1,000 bike helmets this year to children in north Minneapolis through local bike festivals hosted by Venture North.
There will also be a "Brain Health Food cooking demonstration" Saturday at the Mill City Farmers Market. And Minneapolis Mayor R.T. Rybak has proclaimed Saturday as Brain Health Awareness Day in the city to raise awareness of brain disease and the importance of supporting research to find cures.
