Thomas Mallon turns history into fiction. His latest book is "Watergate." He spoke to Kerri this week about turning real people into characters and the difference between what he does and alternate histories.

Writer Anna Quindlen joined Terri Gross on NPR's Fresh Air. Quindlen writes that people expect their faith to deepen as they age and get closer to their own mortality. For her, that wasn't the case.

Rebecca Skloot, author of "The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks," spoke to Kerri about journalistic and medical ethics.
