A Blaine resident has pleaded guilty to providing a synthetic drug to a man who later died.
Timothy Lamere, 22, was charged with third-degree murder in the death of 19-year-old Trevor Robinson-Davis.
Officials say Robinson-Davis died from cardiac arrest caused by toxicity associated with inhaling a synthetic hallucinogen called 2C-E.
Lamere allegedly distributed the drug at a house party in Blaine last March. Authorities say Lamere bought the substance online.
Although 2C-E is not listed as a controlled substance under federal law, the Drug Enforcement Administration has said it is illegal under the Federal Analog Act. That law says drugs that are substantially similar to illegal drugs in structure and effects are also illegal.
Sentencing for Lamere is scheduled for late May.
