Minnesota's moose population is declining sharply.
Population estimates from the Department of Natural Resources show that since 2006 the population has dropped from almost 9,000 to 4,200.
Mark Lenarz, a DNR researcher and an expert on the moose population in the state, speaks with MPR News about why the population is dropping and what it may mean for the future.
