Leaders of the House and Senate agriculture committees are set to release their proposed cuts to farm programs. They're hoping their proposal to the super committee could head off possibly deeper cuts next year when Congress rewrites the Farm Bill. The plan is expected to recommend $23 billion in cuts over the next ten years. And any changes could have a big impact on Minnesota. The state is the fourth largest agricultural producer in the nation. Ag policy consultant Stephanie Mercier helped craft the last two farm bills as an economist for the Senate's agriculture committee.
