ESL expert Dana Ferris explains at a recent St. Mary's University conference why professors and administrators who take a tough-for-you approach toward students who speak English as a second language aren't being fair:
"It is unethical to admit and matriculate students and take their money when their background shows they need support, and not give them support -- and then blame them. And the practical problems? A lot of students are not graduating."
