With the recent discoveries of a bighead carp and DNA of silver carp in the St. Croix River, the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources has stepped up its efforts to find more evidence of the invasive Asian carp species in the St. Croix.
On Tuesday Aug. 23, 2011, commercial fishermen worked with the DNR to net and shock fish on the St. Croix near Osceola, Wisconsin. No Asian carp were found, but the commercial fisherman are scheduled to work on the St. Croix for three more days.
