Census: More Hispanic students finishing high school

New data from the U.S. Census shows a higher percentage of young Hispanic adults are finishing high school.

Figures released Wednesday indicate that 22 percent of Hispanics ages 18 to 24 were not enrolled in high school and didn't have an equivalent degree in 2008. That's 12 percent lower than a decade before.

The number of Hispanic students attending a 2-year college has increased 85 percent since 2000.

Researchers say the data shows a remarkable level of growth, but also expressed concern about the high number of students choosing 2-year institutions, which frequently have lower completion rates.
