Sheriff's deputies in Mower County in southern Minnesota are looking for the burglar who stole $3,000 in collectible coins and bills from a woman in Austin Township over the weekend.
Chief Deputy Mark May tells the Austin Daily Herald the 62-year-old woman left her house Sunday morning and when she got back that afternoon the coins and bills were gone.
May says the burglar apparently got inside by prying open a door on the second floor.
Among the stolen items was a lock box carrying many wheat pennies, mercury dimes and collector's nickels. Rare $20 and $10 bills are also missing.
