Norwegian embassy officials have inspected an aging tower in Duluth in preparation for a visit by Norwegian royalty and have been promised that it will be renovated by the time the king and queen come to town.
The hallmark of King Harald and Queen Sonja's visit in October will be the dedication of the Enger Tower.
The visit by Norwegian consulate and embassy officials Thursday was the first of three before the royal couple arrives. Officials from the Norwegian Royal Palace and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will make trips in June.
The Duluth News Tribune says the tower is undergoing a $372,000 restoration project scheduled for completion in May.
