The main terminal at the Rochester International Airport has been re-opened. It was closed for several hours after a suspicious package was found by a Transportation Security Administration officer.
Airport manager Steve Leqve tells the Post-Bulletin of Rochester the suitcase was found Wednesday afternoon in the checked luggage area of the building.
A bomb squad from the Twin Cities was called to inspect the suitcase. Shortly afterward, officials decided to reopen the terminal.
The terminal was evacuated around 4:30 p.m. People on outgoing flights were taken to a building on the airport property. Incoming flights were diverted until the situation was resolved just after 7 p.m.
