Designated hitter Jim Thome and the Minnesota Twins have agreed to a $3 million, one-year contract.
The deal, announced Friday by the Twins, includes performance bonuses for plate appearances.
The 40-year-old five-time All-Star Thome batted .283 with 25 home runs and 59 RBIs in 108 games with Twins last season. Thome, with his 25 home runs, passed Rafael Palmeiro, Harmon Killebrew, Mark McGwire and Frank Robinson and currently ranks eighth on the All-Time list .
