Kaler discusses Stony Brook campus closure

The Star Tribune quotes University of Minnesota presidential finalist Eric Kaler on his handling of the recent contentious closure of a satellite campus of Stony Brook University, where he has been provost:

Kaler declined to discuss details, as the (related legal) case is ongoing, but did take responsibility for the decision, which he called "a dollars-and-cents issue." He wishes the university had done a better job talking with families: "In an ideal world, I think we would have communicated that differently."
