Two men have been charged with a fatal shooting in St. Paul that police say was in retaliation for previous fights between the defendants and the victim.
Nathan Durick of Minneapolis and Nicholas Jackson of St. Paul, both 26, are charged with second-degree murder in the Nov. 9 death of Joseph Sanchez. Police say the 28-year-old Lake Elmo man and Jackson both had children with the same woman and had a history of fighting.
A criminal complaint says Durick had been looking for Sanchez because he was upset that Sanchez had shot his friend more than a year ago. The complaint also says Durick told police he and Jackson shot at Sanchez when they saw him in an alley. Jackson told police he was not involved in the shooting.
