Todd DeVriese, the 50-year-old dean of St. Cloud State University’s College of Fine Arts and Humanities, died of natural causes Monday in India while on a U.S. Department of Education study tour.
Exactly what caused his death was not stated.

“Our heartfelt sympathy goes out to Dean DeVriese’s family,” Potter said. “He was an impassioned leader who had made a significant impact on his college and on the University during his time at St. Cloud State.”
DeVriese was one of three St. Cloud State delegates on the study tour.
DeVriese came to St. Cloud State in mid-2009 from Texas Tech University, where he was an art professor and director of the School of Art.
