Minnesota nonprofits are expected to receive a quick boost in funding during a 24-hour online giving event that will start at midnight.
Give to the Max Day takes place at GiveMN.org on Tuesday, and organizers hope Minnesotans will beat last year's tally of more than 38,000 donors.
In 2009, the first year of the campaign, donors contributed more than $14 million to more than 3,400 nonprofits across the state.
GiveMN officials said in a press release they will try several new incentives this year to encourage nonprofits and donors to participate in Tuesday's event.
The two nonprofits attracting the largest number of individual donors will receive additional grant money, and one donor will be chosen every hour to have an additional $1,000 contributed to their charity. Organizers said there are also matching funds available for some nonprofits.
More information about Give to the Max Day is available on the organization's website.
