A 58-year-old Minneapolis woman died after scuba diving in Square Lake near Stillwater, a popular destination for divers in southeastern Minnesota.
The Washington County sheriff office says deputies were called to the Golden Acres Campground about 4:15 p.m. Thursday and found someone performing CPR on the woman.
She was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities are withholding the woman's name pending notification of her family.
Deputies say the woman was diving at the time of the incident, but the death remains under investigation by the sheriff's office and the Ramsey County medical examiner's office.
The Washington County website says Square Lake has some of the clearest water in the state and draws scuba divers and swimmers from throughout Twin Cities metro area.
