Capella University names new president

Minneapolis-based Capella University -- a for-profit online school -- has named Larry Isaak as its new president.

Isaak currently leads the Minneapolis-based Midwestern Higher Education Compact. Prior to that he served as a chancellor for the North Dakota University System for nearly 10 years.

Isaak takes over for interim president Mike Offerman, who company officials say will remain a member of the university's leadership team after he's replaced in November.

Isaak comes on board as Capella and other for-profit colleges are facing greater scrutiny, and possibly tighter regulations, from the government.

Earlier this month a U.S. Senate committee asked Capella University, and 29 other for-profit colleges in the country, to provide information on how they use federal financial aid money, how they recruit students and how they set the price of tuition.
