At 12:45 p.m. today, officials at MSU Moorhead will open a time capsule that workers ran across while renovating Lommen Hall.
They "unexpectedly came across the corner stone for Weld Hall—the two buildings are joined. Within the stone was a time capsule in the form of a large sheet metal box."
Construction on Weld Hall began in 1915 and finished in 1916, a university official said.
"What we’re really looking forward to is whether there's a personal message from Frank Weld, the second president" of the university -- and the man after whom the building was named, said MSU Moorhead spokesman Doug Hamilton.
I've got a call in to see what information and photos I can get after it's opened.
