There are more Twin Cities freeway closures and lane restrictions this weekend.
Minnesota Department of Transportation spokesman Kent Barnard says segments of freeways 35W and I-94 next to downtown Minneapolis will be closed from Friday night at 10 p.m. until Monday at 5 a.m.
"We do have I-94 and 35W closed for short stretches for the removal of the deck on the Chicago Avenue bridge," Barnard said. "That work has already started and they're taking off the deck to improve the driving surface and add some lighting and do some Americans with Disability Act improvements to the bridge, mobility improvements."
Weekend drivers in the northern suburbs of Blaine, New Brighton and Arden Hills will be affected by lanes being closed on eastbound Highway 10. Construction will cause traffic on Highway 10 between Highway 65 and 35W to be narrowed to one lane at times.
