Minnesota blueberries are bursting out.
The Minnesota Department of Agriculture says blueberry farms in the Twin Cities metro area and central Minnesota are ready for customers.
It says several patches from Stillwater to Cambridge are reporting a bumper crop, but blueberries as far north as Hinckley are now ripe. Some offer both raspberries and blueberries.
While the blueberry crop may be peaking now in the southern half of Minnesota, berries may not be ready in northern Minnesota until the coming weekend. Several farms on the Iron Range from Grand Rapids to Eveleth should be ready for pickers soon.
