Officials at Nice Ride Minnesota say bright green rentable bikes will soon be available in parts of north Minneapolis.
Some north side residents and lawmakers recently criticized Nice Ride for neglecting the area in their initial rollout of the bike sharing network.
Nice Ride executive director Bill Dossett said they will install three kiosks -- one at International Market Square, at Summit Academy OIC, and at the University of Minnesota's new urban research facility. Dossett said the U of M center is remote compared to the other kiosks, but it's still a good option.
"You've got university students and professors that will be going back and forth, but you've also have a lot of activity in the community nearby because this is an outreach center," Dossett said. "So what they're doing is urban studies, so it's a good location."
