Hundreds of church volunteers are expected to head into the Minneapolis suburb of Brooklyn Park to perform random acts of kindness.
The volunteers from Living Word Christian Center will be recognizable by their bright yellow shirts as they fan out starting at 6:30 Wednesday evening. As part of what they call Operation Outreach, the volunteers will be washing cars, cleaning up parks and other public spots, handing out cold water and doing yard work for senior citizens.
It's an annual event for the Brooklyn Park evangelical church, and in addition to this Wednesday volunteers will hit the streets again the following Wednesday as well as on August 3, which is National Night Out.
Living Word's outreach pastor calls it "a no-nonsense way to improve our community."
