The Highway 61 bridge over the Mississippi River in Hastings has reopened after a fatal accident.
State Patrol Lt. Eric Roeske says one person was killed in the crash, which involved two passenger vehicles, a pickup truck and a semi. The accident happened at 6:20 a.m. just north of the bridge and involved vehicles traveling in both directions.
The person who was killed was in one of the passenger vehicles, Roeske said. The driver of the pickup was taken to the hospital with injuries that were not life threatening, and the driver of the other passenger vehicle suffered minor injuries. The semi driver was not injured.
The bridge was closed in both directions as authorities worked to investigate and clean up the crash, Roeske said. It reopened after the crash had been cleared.
