A 12-year-old boy is being treated at a burn center in Minneapolis after he was accidentally run over by his 16-year-old sister near Akeley.
Hubbard County sheriff's officials say the girl was driving a Subaru Forester when she backed over her brother Saturday in the family's driveway after he dashed out from behind a tree. They say the boy was "improving" on Monday.
Hubbard County Sheriff Frank Homer says the muffler and catalytic converter were so hot that the boy suffered severe burns to his arm and leg. He also has possible internal injuries.
The boy was flown to Innovis Medical Center in Fargo and later airlifted to Minneapolis.
