A group of University of Minnesota students defied the spring break stereotypes and used their free time to help others.
The Minnesota Daily reports that six buses filled with university students traveled to different destination cities over the break earlier this month.
The Pay It Forward Tour was the seventh annual trip sponsored by the university's chapter of Students Today Leaders Forever. Each bus traveled more than 3,000 miles and students worked in more than 25 cities.
For example, in Burlington, Wis., group of students painted the gym a some classrooms at a community center. In Kokomo, Ind., students helped put on a carnival at a nursing home. In Montgomery, Ala., the students served meals at a homeless shelter.
