Man dies in fall from 4th floor at Mall of America

A man who climbed over a fourth-floor railing of the Mall of America rotunda has fallen to his death.

Security officers were alerted Wednesday at 6:50 p.m. to a man with a knife on the fourth floor. Bloomington police said when officers approached the man, he climbed over the railing and fell to the first floor.

Mall officials say officers attempted to perform CPR on the man. Officials say he was breathing and had a faint pulse when paramedics took him to Hennepin County Medical Center. Police say he later died.
