Minnesota turkey hunters are getting another shot.
Turkey hunters who entered this year's spring lottery but lost may apply for surplus permits starting at 5 p.m. Monday. The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources makes surplus permits available at all license agents and online.
Hunters who did not enter the lottery will be able to purchase any remaining surplus licenses beginning at 8 a.m. on Monday, March 22.
Because hunting access in many zones is limited, the DNR says hunters should obtain landowner permission before purchasing a surplus permit.
The spring turkey season opens April 14.
