A Lakeville police officer is struck and injured while investigating a car crash.
Officer Michelle Roberts was first on the scene of the crash Thursday at a Lakeville intersection.
Police Chief Tom Vonhof says Roberts was standing in front of a minivan when a Jeep hit the van. Vonhof says Roberts tried to jump out of the way, but was struck by the minivan.
She was taken to Regions Hospital in St. Paul where she was treated for injuries and later released. Roberts will be on leave until she recovers. The driver of the Jeep was also treated at the hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
The St. Paul Pioneer Press reports the State Patrol is investigating.
