A federal grand jury has indicted a 19-year-old man in a stabbing death on the Red Lake Indian Reservation last month.
The indictment, filed in U.S. District Court Thursday, accuses Ryan Roy Cloud of killing a 27-year-old Red Lake man on Feb. 1.
Court documents say tribal police were called to the Indian Health Service Hospital because a man had been treated for stab wounds. After learning the stabbing took place at a home, police went to the residence, spotted a pool of blood and a knife outside.
Officers say they later learned Cloud and the victim had been wrestling and that Cloud stabbed the man several times. Cloud remains in custody. (Copyright 2010 by The Associated Press. All Rights Reserved.)
