Police say a 29-year-old woman was fatally shot during an exchange of a handgun at a mobile home in Fergus Falls.
Authorities identified the victim Monday as Amanda Kemmer of Fergus Falls. Police say they were called to the Lakeview Estates Mobile Home Park Friday about 10:30 p.m. They found Kemmer dead of a gunshot wound to the chest.
Police Chief Tim Brennan tells KBRF one of the seven visitors at the house was showing off a gun. He says Kemmer took the gun from the man for safekeeping.
When she was putting it away, the man talked her into giving it back. Brennan says the gun discharged as it was being given back to the man, hitting Kemmer.

The chief says the man was not present when police arrived, but contacted authorities a short time later.
