Don't want a phone book? A Minnesota lawmaker aims to help.
A bill authored by Democratic Rep. Paul Gardner of Shoreview could allow residents concerned about paper usage to decline home delivery of a phone directory. The legislation is set for a hearing in a House committee Tuesday.
The bill would require publishing companies to provide contact information on the book's front cover for residents who don't want them delivered in the future. Residents can call or visit a Web site to keep themselves off of delivery lists.
Phonebook publishers must also keep a database of these homes.
