US agriculture secretary speaks in Marshall

U.S. Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack will be visiting the southwestern Minnesota community of Marshall.
Vilsack will appear at the annual Home Grown Economy Conference sponsored by U.S. Rep. Collin Peterson, a Minnesota Democrat who chairs the House Agriculture Committee.
Vilsack and Peterson will hold a news conference at 5 p.m. Monday to discuss the impact of locally produced food on local economies. Vilsack will also give the keynote address at the conference at 9:15 a.m. on Tuesday.
The Home Grown Economy Conference is taking place at Southwest Minnesota State University in Marshall, and via interactive video at four colleges in Bemidji, Crookston, Fergus Falls and Morris.
