Minnesota lawmakers will consider how to help soldiers returning from war.
A Minnesota House committee on veteran affairs is due to meet Friday to discuss a slew of proposals that would provide counseling for veterans.
Democratic Rep. Phillip Sterner of Rosemount is proposing legislation that would provide mental health and alcohol and chemical dependency counseling for veterans.
Sterner is also pushing a provision to allow an unpaid leave of absence for immediate family members of deployed soldiers.
