The Bureau of Criminal Apprehension has completed its investigation into the September deaths of a North St. Paul police officer and his accused attacker.
Preliminary findings back in September showed 57-year-old Officer Richard Crittenden was shot once in the head with his own weapon at a North St. Paul apartment. Authorities said the suspect, 34-year-old Devon Dockery, then exchanged gunfire with a Maplewood police officer.
Dockery died, and Maplewood Officer Julie Olson was injured.
The BCA investigated, and spokeswoman Jill Oliveira says the agency is scheduled to present its findings to the Ramsey County attorney's office Thursday. It's then up to the county attorney to decide whether or not to file charges or convene a grand jury.
Results of the BCA's investigation are not yet available to the public, pending the county attorney's decision.
