Report: H1N1 flu infections remain low in Minn.

H1N1 flu infections remain low in Minnesota, although the Minnesota Department of Health is reporting one more confirmed death.

The Health Department released its weekly update on H1N1 flu in the state on Wednesday.

There was one reported outbreak of influenza-like illness in schools the week of Jan. 3, one H1N1 flu hospitalization and no outbreaks in long-term care facilities.

In addition to the confirmed H1N1 flu death there is also one new death from unspecified flu. No testing was done in that case.

With the latest report, 55 people have died in the state of H1N1 flu, six from unidentified flues and one from seasonal flu.

Although flu activity is down, state officials recommend Minnesotans get vaccinated because a third wave of infections could arise.
